How to choose a feed hammer mill?

Feeds Hammer mill is used for grinding various grain,bran,wheat etc. materials. The purpose of crushing is to increase the surface area of feeds and adjust the particle size, improve digestibility, better absorption of feed nutrients.

So, how to choose a feeds grinder correctly? Here is a brief introduction.

1.Choose according to raw materials

Firstly consider what kind of raw material is crushed. For crushing grain feeds, you can choose a hammer mill with top feeding; for crushing bran and cereal feeds, you can choose a claw mill; if crushing both grain and straw, you can choose a tangential feed hammer mill; for crushing mineral feed such as shells, you can choose a shell-free sieve mill.More configurations, please ask the suppliers.

2. Mechanical parameters

(1) The rated capacity is generally based on the output when crushed corn, the moisture content is the storage safe moisture (about 13%) and the aperture screen is off. Because corn is a commonly used grain feed, the sieve with a diameter aperture is the smallest commonly used sieve. At this time, the capacity is small, which takes into account the more common and difficult state of production.

(2) The capacity of the selected hammer mill is slightly larger than the actual production capacity, so as to avoid the reduction of the production capacity of the pulverizer caused by hammer wear and air leakage, and it will not affect the continuous production and supply of feed.

3. Whether to save energy

The energy consumption of the grinder is very high, so energy saving must be considered when purchasing. According to the standards of relevant departments, the output of each kilowatt-hour of electricity shall not be less than 48 kg when the hammer mill crushes the sieve of the corn sieve. At present, the output of domestic hammer mills has greatly exceeded the above-mentioned regulations, and the high-quality ones have reached 70~75 kg/kWh.

4. The matching power of the grinder

Both the machine manual and the nameplate contain the power kilowatts of the supporting motor of the grinder. It often indicates that it is not a fixed number but a certain range.

5. The discharging method of the crusher should be considered

There are three ways to output the crushed product through the discharge device: dead weight blanking, negative pressure suction and mechanical transportation. Small single machines mostly adopt self-weight blanking method to simplify the structure. Most of the medium-sized pulverizers are equipped with a negative pressure suction device. The advantage is that they can absorb the moisture of the finished product, reduce the humidity in the finished product, which is beneficial to storage, increase the crushing efficiency by 10% to 15%, and reduce the dust in the crushing chamber. The mechanism transportation is mostly adopted by the desktop crusher whose output is greater than 2.5t.

6. Dust and noise of grinder

The dust and noise in feed processing mainly come from the grinder. These two environmental sanitation indicators should be fully considered when selecting models. If you have to choose a grinder with high noise and dust, noise and dust prevention measures should be taken to improve the working environment and benefit the health of the operators.
